Abstract
This investigation converses with the thought currents that analyze the pressing, continuous need for informational, cultural, technical and technological update presently required by the social dynamics, highlighting the role of the information for the construction of social order, economic production, science and culture. It contextualizes the exponential importance of the Information and Communication Technologies in human relations and analyzes the aspect of the use of the media for acquisition of knowledge in formal and informal environments related to schooling. It clarifies the concept and practice of transmedia storytelling in the realm of communication theories and provides an overview of Information Science concerning its responsibility for dissemination of information and knowledge from the perspective of the Applied Social Sciences. Moreover, it presents an account of an exercise of transmedia storytelling as a cultural mode, aiming at appropriation of historical contents by Librarianship undergraduate students.
