Abstract

This work refers to the research proposal as part of the Master in Professional Education in Health on the role of libraries in the training of health technicians in African Countries of Portuguese Official Language. In those countries, health workforce it is insufficient, with a minority of skilled professionals. The objective of the study is to analyze the conditions in which they are the libraries of technical workers training institutions in health d these countries, with which the Polytechnic School Joaquim Venancio Health maintains international cooperation partnerships in order to subsidize the actions of cooperation developed within the International Technical Education Network for Health. The research is classified as descriptive, bibliographical, documentary and field, with qualitative and quantitative approach. The field research is directed to the librarians/employees of school libraries in these countries by questionnaire. With regard to technical cooperation developed by Brazil, it is worth remembering that these countries are among its priorities. Therefore, a thorough study of the situation it is necessary in order to highlight the conditions in which they are the libraries of these schools and the role played by them in learning the technical future health.
