Abstract

This document describes the experience in integrating a model focused on the evaluation of library development, where, according to the conceptualization included, goes beyond previously studied proposals, which are limited to developing assessment processes librarian of record of resources and services available, and more, the assessment of library growth (advance), consisting of the identification of items of historical behavior of a given period. The evaluation model of library development proposed not only considers the library assessment and the evaluation of growth as integral elements, but also has as main purpose to differentiate therefore the effect of the library in the academic and scientific activities, to put it into practice was applied in the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, México, using the case study method to ascertain their viability. Its main findings were: the identification of impact indicators in the measurement of library development focused on determining the aggregate value of the library and its contribution to the identification of indicators of generation and dissemination of scientific and academic production.
