Abstract

It presents the research results developed together with search engine optimization (SEO) professionals, on an evaluation of the attributes of Information Findability (IF) and the principles of Information Usability (IU). The objective of the study is to understand the level of knowledge and application of these principles and attributes by these professionals. In order to achieve this objective, a bibliographic research was carried out on Information Retrieval, Information Findability, Information Usability, Information Representation and SEO, followed by an empirical study with two companies that provide site optimization services. The quantitative-qualitative analysis carried out on the data revealed, among other findings, the partial knowledge of SEO professionals in relation to the principles and attributes that permeate the usability and the findability of the information, leading to the application of some principles and attributes to the detriment of others.
