Abstract

The scientific editing has multidisciplinary characteristics and demands specialized professionals, among them the librarian. In this scenario, the present study analyses the context of the librarian´s performance in editorial production teams of scientific journals. To the realization of the study it had been selected 37 journals indexed in Portal de Revistas USP. The data collection had been realized through the questionnaire sent to responsible editors. It was found that there is a significant insertion of the librarian in editorial teams and these professionals develop a range of interdisciplinary activities related to Library Science, Administration, Editing and Information Technology areas
