Abstract

This historic document, which includes the presentation of Professor Emir José Suaiden, dean of the University of Brasilia and valiant character to the Information Sciences of Brazil, is the memory of the proposition process the largest title that a Professor of a Public University Federal in the country can receive of its Rector. It therefore the honor of Federal University of Paraíba one of her most famous and distinguished teachers, Professor Francisca Ramalho Arruda, dean of the Department of Information Science at the university, its honorary loans and recognition of its decent work that make worthy of Professor Emeritus title, just from her great contribution to the Information Sciences has done and is doing in the Brazilian and international context. The proposition in question was carried out by Professor Luciana Ferreira da Costa, Department of Information Science at the university, her ex-student, considering the significant contribution of Professor Francisca Arruda Ramalho for the Federal University of Paraíba, through her connection with the former Department of Library and Documentation and the current Department of Information Science. Francisca Ramalho Arruda teacher played invaluable activities in undergraduate teaching and graduate levels, research, extension and institutional academic management for over three decades.
