Abstract

This paper presents and analyzes the development of the literature on information literacy in Brazil from 2006 to 2013. It aims, through a bibliographic study in scientific journals and major events in the area of Library and Information Science, to measure the expansion of the theme in terms of quantity of existing publications, considering the ones that are available online, presenting the evolution of the theme through results and detailing the amount of localized publications. This research uses mixed methods to quantify, describe and interpret the findings. The results were satisfactory, revealing a significant increase in the theme in the current Brazilian context.
