Abstract

Describes an experience of action research developed with the participation of students from three classes of the discipline of Information Ethics in course of Bachelor of Library Science from the Federal University of Paraíba, in the period from March 2011 to September 2012. Discusses the virtues from the perspective of Comte-Sponville (1999), highlighting his definition of virtue as "force that acts" as well as the procedures adopted in the research. Describes the framework of virtues proposed by the author, highlighting ten virtues chosen by the participating students as those most representative of library practice and, by extension, the area of Librarianship. Displays the Mandala Virtue of librarianship, drawn from the results indicated by the research and experience of participants as relevant to professional practice librarian, namely: Courage, Tolerance, Humility, Justice, Humor and Love.
