Abstract

Reuni made changes and caused a very diverse national reality and brought some structural problems for libraries. This article originates from a research that aimed to analyze aspects of management context in the Brazilian IFES with emphasis on academic libraries systems. The research aimed to verify the institutional development of the coordinating body through indicators to investigate the organizational structure and its development in strategic management activities. The methodological analysis of this article was descriptive, once it presents a strategic diagnosis of the organizational environment in order to identify the internal and external environment, as well as the recurring strengths and weaknesses. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire. After the analyses of the indicators proposed in this study, we concluded that the coordinating bodies and their university libraries, despite having achieved a model of organizational structure through technical competence, they should still work politically for an appropriate organizational structure.
