Abstract

For discussion of scientific theories of librarianship, this text seeks to resume his career to better understand the process of incorporation of this disciplinary field and to situate it in the paradigmatic changes that have occurred so far. To understand the elements that constitute this field, part of the meaning of the word librarianship, seeking to find its origin through the processes of organization and preservation of recorded information over time. Then highlights the studies that are in the theoretical and practical framework of librarianship, taking into account that this is a discipline that systematized knowledge of the Organization and administration of libraries, including all procedures involving the maintenance and activities of these institutions. After taking into account the question of the science of library science seeks to situate the paradigmatic framework in the current area.
