Memória e literatura: reflexões a partir das biografias

Abstract

Discuss the relationships between memory and literature. It aims to explore biographies as a literary subgenre and as a product of the process of recording individual and collective memories. Qualitative research, adopting the bibliographic method. It is concluded that biographies take memory as the basis for their construction. Memory, in turn, finds in biographies one of the possibilities for recording; registration allows permanence and sharing; Biographical records will always be full of subjectivity, of emotions awakened by memories, literature is understood as one of the elements of society's memory. Biographies act in the generation and dissemination of memory, they allow communication between eras and generations, dialogues with the past through literature. In this sense, it is possible to understand mediation work in the sphere of literary information, carried out in different ways, professionally or not, as contributions to the construction, propagation and preservation of memory.
