Science Information: character posmodernity

Abstract

The article presents the context of creation and improvement of Information Science from a historical-conceptual approach. For this, we present historical traces the origins and evolution of the theoretical and conceptual aspects of the area of its character, such as interdisciplinary, accountable for the represent the area. The aim of this paper is to reveal the traits that characterize the identity of Information Science, passing by its theoretical framework and identifying ways of seeing the area within the paradigm of postmodernity. From the literature review by authors from different periods, tries to outline an overview of the creation and development of Information Science in historical and social context of contemporaneity. Finally, it appears that there is a theoretical and conceptual consensus among experts in the field, that be a sign of different views about its nature. Therefore, it is urgent to develop epistemological studies in order to corroborate the identity constitution of the area.
