Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the role of the public library Cora Coralina, with a Feminist theme, as a building space for the identification and empowerment of black women, in compliance with SDG 5, 10 and 16 of the 2030 Schedule. The methodology applied was through bibliographic and documentary research, aiming at the identification of other sources of information in the fields of Sociology, Psychology, History, Library Science, among others, and a field research under the qualitative approach. Observation and questionnaire application were the instruments used for the purpose of data collection. Participated in the research, which lasted 1 month and 18 days, 20 women from 16 to 46 years old, who attend the public library, located on the east side of São Paulo. Situations were observed that involved the interaction of the reader with the library space and activities available on site. The results show that the library in question is a space of significance for black women who use it, where the provision of tools for empowerment takes place through the thematic collection on feminism, the general collection and activities provided to the female public.
