Abstract

This aims to reflect on the cognitive point of view in information science from the Ingwersen reading which analyzes the rise of cognitivism, the concept and its implications for information processing and information retrieval; the transition model mathematical cognition, consisting of changing the approach to access information centered on access to information on the user, who is the producer of meaning from their world view. Suggests a possible shift from the traditional position of cognitive Brookes for physico-positivist for an alleged incompatibility with the notion of information as a unique assignment of meaning.
