Abstract

There are social markers that differentiate the subjects in a collectivity, creating an initial strangeness that starts from heteronormative places, leaving any dissident subject more susceptible to daily and altered violence. In this aspect, within the LGBTQIA+ movement, Travestis and Transsexuals are at the forefront. The aim was analyze and discuss the content of news publications and readers' comments on news that address the issue of transvestites and transsexuals in online media portals in Alagoas. Stands out as an exploratory research of documentary type, set in online media portals in Alagoas. From the retrieved news, categories were identified according to the content analysis process, in order to identify congruent variables in the publications, which are: education, entertainment, justice, politics, health, theater and general. The figure of the transvestite and transsexual, despite having a history of searching for rights, is also strongly linked to the stigma of violence and sex. The use of the term homophobia occurs throughout the mapping, where it works as a kind of standardized term that “covers” all violence that affect LGBTQIA+.
