Abstract

This paper is part of the doctoral thesis research in Information Science of a Brazilian Federal University, which aims to propose a model appropriate to the problem of the preservation and digital curatorship of digital objects of Research Centers in oncology. In this direction, as one of the prerequisites for achieving the aforementioned goal, this article was developed, with the objective of knowing the needs and activities undertaken about the digital preservation and curatorship of digital objects of an Oncologic Research Center considered a reference in the treatment of this disease. This is a case study carried out after submission and approval of this research in the Brazil Platform, through the issuance of opinions embodied by the institutions: proponents and co-participants.  As a result, in addition to identifying the needs and activities developed related to digital preservation and curation, several aspects that surround such practices were mapped, which are essential when implementing a sustainable model for this purpose.
