Abstract

From a quantitative and descriptive bibliographical research carried out in the Brapci database, this article sought to verify the incidence of scientific production on the memory theme related to the Brazilian Military Dictatorship, aiming to verify how, and if, the theme is represented by the area of Information Science, in the period between 2009 and 2019. Specifically, the objectives were: a) to briefly present the concept of memory and its relation with History and Information Science; b) to discuss the right to memory and truth within the scope of the Brazilian Military Dictatorship; c) research in a specific database of Information Science how many articles have been published in Brazil in the last ten years; d) verify, through keywords in the title and abstract, how many articles relate the theme with memory. As a result, the research returned a corpus of eight articles that relate the terms "memory" and "Military Dictatorship", demonstrating a shortage in the publications and, likewise, a low concern of the CI researchers with the theme.
