Abstract
Due to the intense volume of information that public and private organizations produce and receive daily, it is relevant to develop institutional indicators that can express their performance to support decision-making processes aimed at improving management, therefore, it is admitted that both private and public subjects should be competent in information. In view of this reality, this article intends to investigate how information literacy can develop skills and attitudes in the individual to analyze institutional indicators to make decisions in public organizations. This work is justified to elucidate how information literacy can be applied in public institutions to analyze indicators. Its main objectives are to reflect on the importance of information literacy in the private and public spheres. Methodologically, we opted for bibliographic research of qualitative nature, being a single case study at Etec Antônio Devisate, with applicability of a closed questionnaire whose purpose comprises identifying and recognizing the information literacy of the management team to analyze institutional indicators to make decisions. As expected results, we sought to outline the information literacy of the management team based on the standards, performance indicators and desirable results established by Belluzzo (2007).
