Abstract
This report presents the teaching experience of the workshop “Women in Information Science and Librarianship” given at the 36th Librarianship Panel in Santa Catarina, 2018. This approach aimed to discuss the formation and professional performance focusing on the contributions of women in Librarianship. and Information Science. As theoretical contribution, regarding the problematization of patriarchal culture were cited authors such as Helleieth Safiotti (2002), Teresinha Souza (2013), Simone Beauvoir (2014) and Djamila Ribeiro (2017) and as author, Pierre Bourdieu (2002). In addition to the patriarchal culture approach, the three phases of the feminist movement and the thoughts of the authors Audre Lorde (1984), Judith Butler (2003), bell hooks (2013) on the subject were presented. The methodology was composed of a lecture and dialogued with dynamics focusing on the perception of the participants about women in Library and Information Science.
