SIGAA - Library module: use of tabs technical treatment and circulation

Abstract

Faced with the excessive increase in knowledge production, libraries had to modernize to organize and make information available to their users, safely and accurately. The use of tools, such as software, greatly helps the professional librarian in managing the collection. Accept the need of this audience, the market offers a range of software, therefore, it’s necessary to establish a methodology of analysis and selection of these tools which will assist in the library praxis. This article focuses on the experience report of the use of the Integrated Academic Activities Management System (SIGAA) - Library Module by the Library System of the Instituto Federal de Alagoas  (SiBi / Ifal), more precisely the   technical processes   (cataloging)   and circulation   (loan),   discussing the functionality, benefits and errors presented in the use of the mentioned tabs, from the training occurred to the effective use.
