Abstract
ABDF management in the 2018-2020 triennium for the purpose of working in line with the goals of Agenda 2030 has prioritized the creation of working groups in which the Public Libraries Working Group - GTBP was created. From the perspective of sustainable development, the ABDF has been working to strengthen the membership movement by regaining its role as a representative entity for librarians, and with the mission of promoting excellence in library services by enhancing and recognizing the profession, contributing to dignify the class and democratize information for the society of the Federal District. Thus, it is considered that the GTBP is an important driver to enable many of the goals of Agenda 2030, because, as mentioned, the public library is a social transformation agent that when properly inserted in the citizen's daily life has the power to break barriers of prejudice and inequality that exist in Brazilian society, and contributes to the encouragement of reading and access to information. This article presents the GTBP creation report and the progress of the actions.
