Abstract

The holding of events contributes to the strengthening of professional practices and scientific activities in a given area of knowledge. However, it is wrong to believe that this strengthening is only a consequence of broader events, such as national or international events. It is assumed that joint actions, performed at local level, by isolated groups or professional associations of states and municipalities can bring innovative results and provoke new reflections that contribute to the growth of the area. It is for this purpose that this article is presented, which aims to demonstrate the contribution of librarian teams in the organization of events, in order to enable the conduct of the event with planning, control and excellence in the results achieved. The text manifests itself as an experience report that discusses the launching event of two books in the area of Library Science, organized by the Association of Librarians of the State of Minas Gerais. This is a descriptive text with a qualitative approach, with case report characteristics, permeated by observation techniques. From the results, it was possible to affirm that the excellence of the work can be achieved, especially in the organization of events, when professionals believe and invest in planning actions, with enthusiasm, audacity, unity and collaboration. It is hoped that other initiatives of this nature can be thought of and implemented in order to strengthen Library Science.
