Abstract
It highlights the production and citation indicators of the Altmetrics domain in Brazil from the national scientific literature from journals and events, based on the assumption that the monitoring of this production will allow to verify the trends and the main contributions. It aims to present the panorama of scientific production in the field of Altmetrics in Brazil from the articles of national journals and events of Information Science according to the perspective of the normative theory of citations. It is characterized as a descriptive research and bibliographic typology by means of the cientometrics method. The main results are: gradual evolution of articles on Altmetrics over the years, since its emergence in Brazil in 2013; a significant majority of the most productive authors linked to public institutions and post-graduate programs in Information Science; preference for citation of foreign authors, with approximately 55% of citations received. It notes that Altmetria has potential for consolidation in Information Science in Brazil, given the number of publications for the time cut contemplated by the research and the number of researchers who have this area as a research interest.
