Abstract
The purpose of this study is investigate the mediation of information present in the context of virtual communities for asexuals. In order to reach it, two virtual communities were selected as the research universe: The Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) and the Assexual Community, The study is of a basic nature has documental and exploratory character, it comprises a qualitative-quantitative approach and the observation and the questionnaire were used as techniques of data collection. To analyze the data, we used the principles of the Categorical Analysis of Content Analysis of Bardin (2004), with a view to organizing the forms of information mediation identified in the communities. In the results, it presents six distinct thematic categories referring to the forms of information mediation identified during data collection. It is considered that the mediation of information, in fact, is present in the initiatives of the communities, manifesting itself in several ways. The administrator, in turn, recognizes the relevance of its work to the act of facilitating access to information insideof community.
