Abstract
It reports experiences of projects enabled by the Rouanet Law (8,313 / 91) showing how they contribute to the formation of readers in Brazil. For this, it portrays the important role of the librarian as an agent of social transformation and also discusses the use of the Rouanet Law in Brazil in cultural projects. It presents three projects financially enabled by the Rouanet Law, the first is the construction of the Entre Rios do Sul Culture Center, located in Rio Grande do Sul, the second refers to the Municipal Public Library Júlio da Costa Neves located in the western region of Santa Catarina and lastly, the project Book Truck - Itinerant Library that visited about twenty cities between the south, southeast and center-west regions this year. In both projects there was effective participation of the librarian as an agent of social transformation in initiatives that were only possible because there was funding through the Rouanet Law.
