From the traditional management to the culture of project management in libraries: the case fo reef higher education institutions in Recife

Abstract
It aimed to analyze the factors that influence the project management culture in the university libraries of Recife. He based the study by reviewing specialized literature in the areas of Librarianship, Administration and Information Science. He carried out a research of explanatory nature with methodological procedure of field. A questionnaire was applied to 12 private institutions of higher education in the State of Pernambuco, obtaining 68 respondents. He based the structured questionnaire of data collection from the PMBOK with Likert's adjusted percentage scale. It obtained 68 respondents through multiple linear regression with Statistica 8 software. It generated four independent variables: project acceptance criteria, freedom to discuss artifacts, role of leader and physical versus financial monitoring. He concluded that the variables indicate an index of 85% in favor of supporting the project management culture in university libraries. It points out a cultural demand for this type of management and research in the Brazilian state and national spheres.
