Abstract

Social entrepreneurship aims to act locally, but thinking in a global and integrated way to develop collective actions for the promotion of quality of life, cultural, economic or environmental in the scope of social sustainability. In Brazil, it is possible to identify professionals of Librarianship who have this entrepreneurial profile allied to a collective social conscience that develop activities and projects, voluntarily or not, aimed at improving education, access to information, promotion of reading and culture. Thus, this paper aims to present some cases of librarians considered social entrepreneurs to portray how they develop their work from the benefits generated for the most vulnerable communities in which they work. The research is characterized as descriptive and bibliographical whose identification of the professionals was made via Group Librarians of Brazil on Facebook. It is concluded that this aspect of action is increasing and necessary to meet the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda, especially in relation to objectives 4 and 10 that seek to reduce inequalities and help promote quality education. In addition, it brings many social, educational and cultural benefits to the population by emphasizing the contribution and social responsibility of library professionals.
