Abstract

It deals with the activities of libraries in Agenda 2030 with an emphasis on the work of prison libraries. It presents as a starting point the following question: how can the prison library contribute to the multiple developments of the prison community aligned with the presuppositions of the United Nations (UN) agenda 2030? It aims to address the contribution perspectives of the library to Agenda 2030 with an emphasis on prison libraries and their multiple potential processes of resocialization working with the prison community. It concludes that the great legacy of a library is not pertaining to the actions that they undertake in themselves, but to the impacts / interferences that these actions provoke in the community / user. Prison libraries have multiple perspectives for the re-socialization of prisoners by means of practices based on categories such as literacy training, information literacy, collection of work, work / profession / employment, entertainment and leisure, and human relationships. guiding and pragmatic applications.
